Newman Hall Handbook
This Handbook is intended as a guide for all resident students during the Academic Year. It contains details of what you can expect from us, and some indications of the part each resident plays in the life of our community. Do return to it during the year, and make it your first point of reference if you are unsure of anything. It is updated each year.
In order to be considered for a place at Newman Hall or Ward Hall after emailing the Fathers explaining why you would like to join the community, you will then be invited to send two references and then your application will be considered. The Fathers may then send you the handbook for your to read and sign and then upon reception of your deposit and signed lease your application will be complete.
All the rooms at Newman Hall are ensuite and are a reasonable size for student needs. Students have 24 hour access to the library and living/music room as well as the student kitchen. During daylight hours they have access to the laundry and room and are invited into the Oratory Fathers refectory for meals and other special occasions.
The rooms at Ward Hall vary in size and most are enormous, there 3 bathrooms between the 9 residents. There is a generous sized kitchen/living room where there are laundry facilities provided also. The students from Ward Hall are expected to be part of the Newman Hall community, dining when possible and participating in various events throughout the year
